Mediation

As the complexity of disputes continues to increase, parties on both sides are facing a greater degree of litigation risk, coupled with potentially significant liability for adverse costs if the Court finds against them. Whilst we encourage a robust approach to negotiations here at Your Legal Costs, it is often pragmatism that delivers the best results where outcomes are uncertain. Mediation is an excellent tool in these circumstances and provides an effective, confidential, and cost-efficient solution.

If required, one of our Mediators will attend your mediation appointment to help the parties find common ground and reach a compromise where possible, whilst providing impartial support throughout the process.

In most cases, both parties will share liability for the Mediator’s fees, rather than one party being left with the full cost at the end of a lengthy and expensive trial. Whilst we specialise in the mediation of costs disputes, we are also happy to accept instructions for mediation across all areas of civil litigation.
