Andy Scott is Group Sales Director at Your Legal Costs, bringing over three decades of experience in sales leadership to the business. His career is defined by a commitment to building lasting client relationships and driving business development with integrity and results.

Andy’s journey in sales began with roles at Red Bull UK, Canon UK, and ADT (Tyco), where he honed his skills in fast-paced, high-performance environments. Since entering the legal costs sector nearly 15 years ago, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s business development strategy, enhancing service delivery, and fostering long-term client partnerships.

Andy’s role goes beyond meeting sales targets. As a hands-on leader, he is dedicated to understanding clients’ needs and delivering tailored solutions. He frequently travels to meet clients face-to-face, ensuring Your Legal Costs remains responsive and proactive in an ever-evolving legal landscape. Outside of work, Andy enjoys supporting his daughter’s football matches, following Huddersfield Town, and pursuing his lifelong passion for fishing. His leadership style combines commercial acumen with a people-first approach, ensuring Your Legal Costs is recognised as a trusted partner to law firms across the UK.

Jeni Furlong is Group Head of Operations at Your Legal Costs, bringing more than 20 years of experience across insurance, legal services, and operational leadership. Known for her people-first approach, Jeni combines strategic oversight with a hands-on management style that keeps the business running smoothly and her management team fully supported to ensure the business achieves the best possible results.

Jeni’s career began at Norwich Union as a sales adviser, progressing into management roles before transitioning into the legal sector. She held key positions at firms including Silverbeck Rymer, where she developed her leadership expertise across operational transformation, service delivery, and large-scale team management – all underpinned by a clear focus on client care and performance.

At Your Legal Costs, Jeni oversees the day-to-day running of the business, along with business processes and resourcing, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for growth. She’s instrumental in ensuring the business operates with efficiency and purpose. Jeni is passionate about creating a positive workplace culture and believes that strong leadership is about empathy, consistency, and clarity. Jeni is also a proud aunt, karaoke enthusiast, a lifelong fan of steam rallies and camping – and always has a story or two to tell about Tetley, her rather fussy Lhasa Apso dog.

Chris Lacey is Operations Manager at Your Legal Costs, bringing over two decades of hands-on experience across all aspects of legal costs. His career is defined by a strong operational mindset, deep sector knowledge, and a commitment to building high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results.

Chris began his journey in legal services in 2001 and quickly developed a specialism in costs law. He advanced from drafting and negotiating to leading teams, and has held senior roles in established costs firms including Compass Costs. He has played a central role in scaling operations, launching new departments, and mentoring colleagues – experiences that laid the foundation for his leadership style today.

Since becoming Operations Manager at Your Legal Costs, Chris has taken on a broader strategic remit. He works closely with the leadership team to oversee performance, streamline processes, and ensure the business delivers consistently for its clients. Known for his commercial awareness and collaborative approach, Chris combines technical expertise with a clear focus on continuous improvement. Away from the desk, Chris enjoys family time, golf, and following Liverpool FC – often combining travel with his passion for the game. He takes pride in developing others and contributing to a culture where people thrive.

Vicky Davies is the Drafting Team Leader at Your Legal Costs, where she oversees Multi Track and Fast Track drafting – bills and budgets in particular. Since stepping into her leadership role in June 2022, Vicky’s main focus has been the day-to-day running and development of the team, managing file allocation, and reporting to senior management. She still enjoys getting hands-on with drafting when needed, ensuring her technical skills stay sharp.

Vicky’s journey into legal costs began unexpectedly in 2001 after she graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a Law Degree. Answering a newspaper advertisement for ‘Law Graduates’ led her into the admin department of a costs firm. She steadily built her experience from drafting schedules and bills to handling complex Multi-Track matters. Along the way, she completed her LPC at Chester Law College, qualified with the ALCD in 2007, and became a Costs Lawyer in 2011. Her first job was at Dolcis, a shoe shop, where she worked briefly whilst at college/university.

One of Vicky’s favourite aspects of her role is the supportive and friendly team environment, which she finds makes even the busiest days enjoyable. She particularly likes allocating files, as it brings a sense of progress and helps keep the workload under control. Equally rewarding is developing her team members and helping them reach their potential. Her colleagues would describe her as approachable, helpful, and just a bit ditsy – adding to her warm and approachable leadership style.

Outside of work, Vicky spends her time watching her son’s football matches, enjoying bike rides with the kids, and catching up on TV series marathons with her daughter (Gilmore Girls is the latest obsession). She loves family time, cocktails, spa days, and good food – especially if there’s sunshine involved. Fun fact: Vicky has a knack for getting lost, even with a sat-nav, and often finds herself heading in the wrong direction. She also has a quirky hidden talent – she can wobble her eyeballs, a trick that never fails to make her friends laugh.

Mike Yassin is a Senior Costs Negotiator at Your Legal Costs, where he brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic approach to costs negotiations. Since 2012, Mike has immersed himself in the unpredictable yet rewarding world of legal costs, qualifying as a Costs Lawyer in 2017. Like many in the industry, his path into costs was somewhat accidental, but he quickly discovered a genuine passion for the lively and ever-changing challenges it presents.

At YLC, Mike specialises in negotiating costs and liaising with advocacy on a variety of matters, always with the aim of achieving the best possible outcomes for clients. His favourite part of the job is securing great results and ensuring his clients’ positions are protected at every stage.

Mike’s colleagues would describe him as pragmatic, resourceful, and resilient – qualities that shine through in his work and help him navigate even the most complex cases. Outside of the office, Mike loves staying active at the gym, exploring the great outdoors, and enjoying the camaraderie of a good pub quiz. He’s also a fan of car shows, where he can indulge his appreciation for classic and modern cars.

Kevyn Peaurt is a Trainee Solicitor and Costs Draftsman at Your Legal Costs, where he brings a keen eye for detail and a passion for Bill Drafting. Since joining YLC in 2021, Kevyn has thrived on the challenge that the legal costs world provides. He sought out a role that would test his skills and keep him busy – and costs work has certainly delivered.

Kevyn’s specialism lies in Bill Drafting, though he’s recently broadened his expertise to negotiating on his own files, further expanding his knowledge and confidence. His favourite part of the job is the variety that each new claim brings; no two cases are ever quite the same, which keeps his work engaging and fresh. Kevyn particularly enjoys the moment when he finishes a Bill of Costs and sends it to the client, ready to tackle the next challenge.

Before his legal career, Kevyn’s first job was as a Retail Assistant at TJ Hughes, where he honed his customer service skills.

His colleagues would describe him as sarcastic, helpful, and – on occasion – grumpy, though they know that’s part of his charm. Outside of work, Kevyn enjoys playing padel, golf, and football with friends, as well as taking his dog, Arnold, for walks. Most people are surprised to learn that he actually has five middle names!

Amy Louise Leigh is a Senior Negotiator at Your Legal Costs, where she specialises in negotiating settlements on Bills of Costs, Schedules of Costs, and N260s. With experience stretching back to 2011, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge and a steady hand to every case she handles.

Having been in the legal costs industry for over a decade, Amy values the strong working relationships she has built with both clients and opponents over the years. She takes pride in seeing a case through from start to finish, guiding it carefully through the settlement process and ensuring that both sides can move forward.

Amy’s career began in a very different setting – waiting tables at a local pub at 15 – where she first developed the people skills that would later serve her so well in negotiation. Today, her colleagues describe her as organised, helpful, and friendly – qualities that make her a key part of the team.

Outside of work, Amy’s time is devoted to her daughter, her two dogs, and enjoys socialising with family and friends. She also has a knack for DIY and interior design, always eager to tackle a home project or find the perfect finishing touch to make a space feel just right. Fun fact: Amy is no stranger to a home improvement challenge – she’s as likely to be wielding a paintbrush on a weekend as she is to be progressing a settlement.

Paul Davis is a Senior Advocate at Your Legal Costs, where his 40-plus years of experience are an invaluable asset to the team. Paul has combined his expertise as a litigator with a sharp focus on technical advice, drafting Points of Dispute and Replies, and providing robust advocacy support. His enthusiam for costs work began when he started drafting his own costs in cases he litigated and those of his colleagues – a skill that soon evolved into a dedicated career in the field.

Paul’s favourite part of the job is, quite simply, winning. He takes great satisfaction in achieving successful outcomes for clients, especially when a well-crafted argument in a Reply brings a dispute to a positive resolution. Drafting Replies to Points is his favourite task at work, as it blends the rigours of precise pleading with the creativity and flair of advocacy – particularly important in today’s landscape of Provisional Assessments.

His colleagues would describe him as experienced, tactical, and – with a grin -something of a “Grammar-Warrior,” always ready to ensure every detail is correct.

Paul’s journey into the legal world began with his first job as a Legal Clerk, laying the foundations for his extensive career. Outside the courtroom, Paul is a Francophile, and also enjoys life’s quieter moments – though he does have a passion for cryptic crosswords and being a stickler for grammar means he’s always ready to engage in a spirited debate over the correct placement of an apostrophe!

Ben is a dedicated Advocate at Your Legal Costs, specialising in drafting Points of Dispute and Replies, with a particular focus on housing disrepair cases and disputes involving small claims or fixed costs (or where the Defendant misguidedly claims that such costs are applicable!)

He began his career in legal costs after an unexpected opportunity arose during the Covid lockdown, when he was furloughed from his previous role. Seizing the chance to upskill, Ben enrolled in the Pure Costs Academy program and, as of May 2025, boasts four years of experience in the field.

Ben finds real satisfaction in crafting Replies that help narrow the issues between parties, paving the way for settlements that everyone can accept. And, on the flip side, he admits there’s a certain professional thrill when a carefully calculated Part 36 offer pays off at assessment after the other side has declined it.

Prior to joining the world of legal costs, Ben’s first permanent role was as an accounts assistant at a demolition firm – a role which has a surprisingly number of transferrable skills to  costs, especially when scrutinising the fine detail of a complex Bill or attempting to locate the source of a discrepancy between two sets of figures.

Known among colleagues as “enthusiastic,” “talkative,” and (he insists) “caffeine-addicted,” Ben also enjoys frequently necessary task of mock-assessing Bills, which he has described as “oddly soothing”.

Outside of work, Ben loves cooking for family and friends, especially his signature chilli. At home, he and his wife share their lives with a black-and-white cat who, by all accounts, runs the household. One fun fact: Ben is known for his relaxed, tropical vibes on dress-down Fridays – thanks to his collection of Hawaiian shirts that catch colleagues off guard after a week of business attire.

Lisa is the Technical Lead at Your Legal Costs, bringing extensive experience and a meticulous approach to a varied caseload that spans both publicly funded (Legal Aid) and privately funded matters. Her expertise covers every stage of a case – from initial instruction to settlement and payment – and includes advocacy and complex resolution. Lisa has a particular emphasis on catastrophic injury claims, matters involving the Human Rights Act or disability elements, as well as budgeting and advocacy.

Lisa has focused on legal costs work since 1995, building on her post-qualification legal career and a foundational course at Chester College of Law. She started her journey in costs at a top 50 law firm in London, after transferring into their Costs Department. But her work ethic began long before then – her very first job was as a checkout girl in Bejam (now known as Iceland), a position her mum helped her secure.

Lisa’s favourite part of her role is the variety and multi-disciplinary nature of the work. No two days are the same, and she enjoys any task that ensures clients receive fair and just compensation for their efforts. Outside of work, Lisa is dedicated to her thriving community-based pub, which takes up most of her spare time working with the dedicated team. Most people might be surprised to learn that she owns and runs this local hub – a passion project that’s become a vibrant part of her community.
